Neighborhood Point Person Network

With Covid-19 on the forefront of everyone’s mind, the Sunset Heights Civic Club is rolling out a new system for keeping the neighborhood connected in this time of social distancing and isolation. We are building a network of many neighborhood units across Sunset Heights. (Sunset Heights is defined by the boundaries of 20th Street to 610, Yale to North Main.)

In a nutshell, we are hoping to encourage connection with each block. Get to know your neighbors and how you can safely support one another in this time. Once we are past this pandemic, we hope to come out of this a stronger and more unified neighborhood! Throughout this current season of social distancing and rising cases of the novel coronavirus, we are hoping these neighborhood pods can be a good way for neighbors to meet the needs of other neighbors. Let’s stay connected in the midst of isolation.

Your block may already be doing this, and if so that is awesome! We are hoping all blocks in Sunset Heights are connected so they can offer and provide help during this time of need and beyond. Pandemic aside, we have seen neighborhood connection on a small scale like these pods helpful for crime alerts, social gatherings, neighborhood projects like gardening and Little Free Libraries, and literally borrowing a cup of sugar from your neighbor.

In order for this to work, we need one person from every block to take charge to help connect their immediate neighbors. Don’t worry, this is not a big time commitment. If you are interested in helping to lead your block of neighbors, please follow this link and fill out the short form. We will be in touch.

We love this neighborhood and all the neighbors in it. We are here to support you all however we can.
